What is the Lemon Law?
The Lemon Law is a state law that protects consumers. The Lemon Law provides that where a manufacturer of a vehicle has breached the written warranty provided with a vehicle, the purchaser has the right to compensation. The Lemon Law also provides for payment of all legal fees and costs to be paid by the manufacturer, if the consumer prevails on their claim.
Essentially, where a new vehicle is defective or is nonconforming, and where such defect substantially impairs the use, value, and/or safety of the vehicle, and the new vehicle is not repaired within a reasonable number of attempts, or if the vehicle is out of service for a total of 30 days for the defect or non-conformity, you may be entitled to Lemon Law relief, consisting of a new car, full refund, or partial monetary payment.
